Kavya first appeared in Kamal's film Pookalam Varavayi (1991). But when she was in ninth standard, she got an offer to play as a heroin in Lal Jose film Chandanudikkunna Dikkil, and that became a super hit movie.
Kavya’s films are Mizhi Randilum, Dosth, Madhura Nombarakattu, Sadananthante Samayam...etc. Meesa Madhavan,is the movie which bagged a record collection in malayalam film industry
She has acted in few Tamil films and Kasi was her first film in Tamil which became a successful film. But she seems little hesitant accepting Tamil roles may be because of skin revealing dresses demanded by the industry
Her last released film after her marriage was "Ee Pattanathil Bhootham".
She was married to Nishal Chandra. Now she has applied for divorce from her husband.
After the divorce, she is getting lot of offers from Malayalm film industry. Christian Brothers, directed by Joshi may be her first film after the divorce contoversies.
