Kaveri (also known as Kalyani) is a Malayali film actress made her debut as a child artist in the 1986 Malayalam film Ammanam Kili.

she appeared in several Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada-language films.After essaying supporting roles in Malayalam and Tamil-language films, she enacted female lead roles in several Telugu-language films.
She has won the Nandi Award for Best Actress for her performance in Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru (2002).
She is perhaps best known for her appearances and critically acclaimed performances in films such as Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum, Samudhiram, Avunu Valliddaru Ista Paddaru, Kabaddi Kabaddi and Kasi.
During the making of the film Pedha Babu, Kaveri and the film's director Suryakiran fell in love with each other. After the permission and acceptance of both their families, they got married on 1 May 2005. Suryakiran is the elder brother of the actress Sujitha.
